Next to the city of Tartu there is this area of meadows and little water bodies where some invasive species such as the Canada goldenrod (Solidago canadensis) and the lupine (Lupinus polyphylus), spread easily over open spaces. This area also hosts native species which might be endangered, so here is needed a bit of help from us. Since this is related to my research topic I was interested in participating.
In this time we spend one evening removing the Canada goldenrod. This specie is an ornamental plant scaped from gardens. We had to cut it down before blooming period to prevent its expansion.

Committed volunteers, productive work and nice candy break :)
I hope to repeat soon!
