So, islands again :)

Osmusaar is located at the NW of Estonia, and as every island, it has its own personality. In this time, we came with the aim of restoring meadows through clearing certain type of shrubs. Only 3 families and their animals live on the island. Even though this cattle helps with this task in a traditional way, they still need a bit of support from volunteers.

My top 5 list of this talgud:

  • A place of very high historical interest. Vikings, Swedes, Russians and Estonians lived here and some left their heritage.
  • Geologically special place. Osmusaar is an emerged part of the side of the crater of a meteorite. Fossils of marine animals and very interesting rocks formation can be found here.
  • The most interesting and creepy visit to a Soviet bunker.
  • Nice group and diverse group: Estonian, English and Spanish speakers :)
  • And my favourite: How long could it take to build your tent in the middle of a strong wind and with a very tiny layer of ground? Just imagine!
